• Question: Can you use the USB connection to get 7.1 surround sound from a PS4?

  Let me clear this up for you. The virtual 7.1 surround sound is supported through the USB sound card only when used on a computer. The Cloud II is officially supported with the PS4 using the 3.5mm audio jack plugged into the controller. It can be used with the USB sound card but as the PS4 does not have the drivers to run the sound card it will only support pass-through sound. When used that way the 7.1, volume, and mic control buttons are disabled; only the mic mute switch on the side will work. • Question: Are these made of plastic or metal? I ask because I've broken so many expensive Turtle Beach headsets due to them being made of plastic.

  The mainframe is metal some parts are plastic but this headset is very flexible and durable I recommend them I got them after I broke my corsair 2000s And I love them 

• Question: Does the headset USB adapter support sidetone? In other words, hearing your own voice through the mic, in the headphone speakers?

  When connected to a computer you can enable mic monitoring or select to "listen to" the mic in the audio options so that you hear yourself through the mic on the headphones. In other devices, like gaming consoles, cell phones, or tablets, that do not have advanced audio options this would not be available. • Question: Is the crackling sound issue solved? That's what is preventing me from getting these as apart from this, they seem to be amazing.

  Not as of about two weeks ago when I called customer support. They sent me a free adaptor cable to plug straight into my motherboard and mouse pad to hold me over until they have a fix. But honestly, the crackling is barely noticeable and hardly ever happens, I would still be happy with this headset even if they never find a fix.

• Question: Is there a mic mute option on the volume control?

• Question: Does this surround sound currently work for ps4 via USB?

  No, PS4 Currently works with Stereo Sound via Headset jack or USB. 

• Question: Is 7.1 Surround Sound an optional feature; can you turn it off?

• Question: Are these essentially the same as the hyperx cloud headset except for the addition of the USB soundcard? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/b00jjnqg98

  For the most part, the headsets are the same and the difference is mainly that the Cloud 2 sound card has 7.1 surround sound and does utilize a USB connection, where the Cloud 1 is a general sound card with no surround sound and has 3.5mm jacks as the interface to the host device. Thank you for considering using Kingston Technology as your upgrade partner. ~Darren /Kingston Technical Support

• Question: Are these ready out of the box to use out of the box with all functions on my ps4, I don't have a pc to update headphones?

  I believe so but I am using them with my PC. Here are some steps I found doing a search: 

  Here are the steps: 
  Connect the single 3.5mmm audio jack to the PlayStation 4 game controller. PS4 controller sold separately. 
  1. Turn on your PS4® game console. 
  2. Navigate to the Settings Menu and select it. 
  3. Highlight the ‘Sound and Screen’ menu option and select it. 
  4. Scroll down to ‘Audio Output Settings and select it. 
  5. Choose ‘Output to Headphones’ and exit.
• Question: Does this work with Xbox one and if so is the quality just as good on Xbox One?

  This plugs right into my Xbox controller and works great! Great quality of directional sound. If you still use AAs invest in rechargeable because this uses more battery. 

• Question: are the pads real leather?

  Debra A, HyperX Cloud II headset earpads, and headband memory foam padding are covered in a leatherette material, not real leather. Thank you. 

• Question: Are these comfortable to wear if you have a big head? (For long gaming sessions)

  Yes they are, I use them for gaming and I have a medium size head and they very comfortable and lightweight... You can adjust them to get the perfect fit 

• Question: Will the vmoda boom mic work with these?

  Hello Joshua A, HyperX Cloud II headsets are designed to work with HyperX Cloud microphones built with a unique 3.5mm jack plastic molding for a precise physical and electrical connection. The use of none HyperX Cloud microphones does not guarantee a proper fit for Cloud 2 headsets. Thank you. 

• Question: Are the pieces holding the earcups made out of metal or plastic, if plastic are they durable enough to take on, say me sitting on them?

  The little grey or red pieces are in metal. the cups are in a good quality plastic. I already let them fall and didn't break anything also, cables are with a kind of textile. very durable headset.

• Question: I have an Xbox one x are they compatible?

  HyperX Cloud 2 headset works very well as a pair stereo headset on Xbox One X. Connect the headset main cable directly to Xbox game controller 3.5mm auxiliary port. Xbox console should automatically enable headphones and microphones as primary audio devices. Please note that the included USB virtual 7.1 surround sound card works only on PC and PS4 platforms. • Question: Does the Mic work when plugged into a 3.5mm headphone jack

  I believe you have to control it through the console command since the mic control is USB. 

• Question: Bought in Jan 2016. now it's randomly disconnecting from the USB port on several pcs. can't get the manufacturer to respond. any ideas on help?

  I had the same problem with mine, turned out to be the USB jack, try moving the cable on the jack a bit to see if it moves, check if you can by moving the cable make it work again, if you can do that it means its faulty. 

• Question: Does the Gun Metal version come with Velour ear pads like the red ones?

  I'm sure they do. Should be the exact same thing. 

• Question: How does the sound compare to other gaming headsets like Turtle Beach, Astro, Razer, etc...

  I have only use turtle beach on PS4...I am currently using these on my PC(also works with my PS4) and as a battlefield 4 player the directional sound in these when in 7.1 modes is amazing! 

• Question: Do these squeeze your head and cause headaches and sore ears?

  No, they go OVER the ears. 

• Question: Is there a way to mute the mic when using the headset on an Xbox One?

  HyperX Cloud 2 mic can be muted or enabled by going to console System (pressing Xbox Button in console Home Screen), Settings, Audio, Headset Mic setting to switch mic audio ON or OFF. If you are interested in Xbox One compatible Cloud headsets that feature convenient mic audio Mute/Activate the switch, you may want to have a look at CloudX (HX-HSCX-SR/NA), Cloud Alpha (HX-HSCA-RD/AM), or Cloud Stinger Core (HX-HSCSC-BK). • Question: so I have USB-powered headphones right now and I've got them powered through my mobo and there is static will I hear it when, 7.1, USB is plugged in?

  I would probably say there is a good possibility you will. Sounds like there might be an issue with your motherboard, or the USB port, shielding maybe. The only real way to know would be to buy and see. IF so you probably know that it's your computer, not the headset. I love mine and use them with a PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Great set of headphones. 

• Question: Can I connect them to a tv

  Hi, yes you can connect the HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset to your TV as long it has a 3.5mm audio jack. Thank you. 

• Question: Do I have to buy a Mixamp/DAC to get the best position/footstep audio for gaming; Counter-Strike?

  No the 7.1 works great for gaming. I use a generic equalizer for music though. 

• Question: I would like to know if the headsets can know the direction of the steps and shoots on fps games?

• Question: Will these work with the Xbox one?

  The HyperX Cloud II is compatible with the Xbox One using the 3.5mm connection with the Xbox One Headset Adapter (not included with the headset). • Question: I'm wondering if I use this with an Xbox one will my game audio come through my headset and not through the tv?

  Both. just make sure to turn off your HDMI audio in the audio Xbox one setting if you don't want it through your TV. 

• Question: Is this headset compatible with "Microsoft Teams"?

  Yes I think 

• Question: Can these headphones function correctly if plugged into a USB 3.0 port?

  for whatever reason mine don't...but if I plug directly into the headphone jack on the computer or my speakers it works fine, however, there is no volume control on the cord without the USB adapter
